Oksana Shumakova, Rector of Omsk State Agrarian University, summed up the results of the year

In 2020, we were able to ensure the dynamic and competitive development of our University.

Supported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and JSC "Rosselkhozbank", we opened a Digital Situation Room. At the exhibition "Golden Autumn – 2020" project of the center for creating a digital double of a farm was presented to the Prime Minister.  We have received patents on world-class innovative varieties of purple and perennial wheat, and the International Breeding and Genetic Center of Omsk State Agrarian University has started its work.  According to the results of the grant competition organized by the Government of the Russian Federation, the project of our scientists was the winner in the field of agriculture. 90 million rubles were allocated for the creation of a world-class laboratory where research in the field of increasing the nutritional value of wheat will be conducted.  The Volunteer Center of Omsk State Agrarian University became a prizewinner of the contest "Volunteer of Russia".

Our students have won the All-Russian student marathon "AgroProfi".  Sportsmen of Omsk State Agrarian University got silver and bronze in the Greco-Roman wrestling championship of the Siberian Federal District.

A member of Omsk SAU Business Incubator became a finalist of the All-Russian Youth Cup in Management "Upravlyay!" The student media service won the first place at the international media festival "We are Here!" Omsk SAU improved its performance as one of the leading agrarian HEIs in Russia in the ranking of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. For the very first time, Omsk SAU entered the world ranking of sustainable universities Green Metric.   The prospects of the University have been determined now, and our work will be aimed at active work with talented young people, implementation of advanced research projects, creation of new points of financial stability, and brand promotion.

The motto of our University is "Today we need to do what others will do tomorrow!"
