Omsk SAU Vice rector for social work and youth policy Zhanna Konstantinovna Schmidt and a teacher of the Department of foreign languages Jacopo Vigna-Taglianti attended the session.
The plenary session was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Omsk region, the Minister of Education of the Omsk region Tatyana Vasilyevna Dernova. Participants of the session discussed the current situation with terrorism and ways to resist this threat. Tatyana Dernova stressed that teachers play a very important role in preventing students from being engaged into extremism. Teachers must engage young people in positive and constructive activities, and prevent them from destructive and socially dangerous behaviour.
K. M. Marenko, Head of the Anti-terrorist Coordination Department of the Center for Countering Extremism in Omsk region presented the report on the features of extremism in the region and the measures taken to counter it.
A report on the features of destructive ideologies in the Internet was presented by A. N. Starostin, Vice-President of the Ural Association "Center for ethno-religious studies, preventing extremism and countering extremist ideology", Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Theology of the Ural State Mining University", expert of the Russian International Affairs Council.
T. P. Milcharek, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Labor and organizational psychology at Omsk State Technical University, told about the early diagnosis of psychological risks of extremism.
S.V. Korovin, Head of Omsk College of Industry and Economics told about approaches to the organization of Preventive work that are used in the College.
Jacopo Vigna-Taglianti, teacher at the Omsk SAU Department of foreign languages, made a report on international volunteering "International volunteering at Omsk SAU: history and prospects of development". Jacopo spoke in detail about the main stages of development of international volunteering in At Omsk State Agrarian University. There, volunteering activities began in 2013, thanks to the exchange of experience with volunteers from Switzerland. His presentation included a list of events organized within the framework of the Association of Youth Intercultural Communication at the University of Udine (Italy). The Association is the predecessor of the International Friendship Club of Omsk SAU. Also, the main results of the kid's activities and prospects for the development of international volunteering on the basis of Omsk SAU were discussed.
When the event was over, T.V. Dernova gave letters of thanks to Oksana Viktorovna Shumakova, the Rector of Omsk State Agrarian University, and to Jacopo Vigna-Taglianti for assistance in organizing the forum.
