On December 5, Adamas University (India) held the virtual International Student Conference "Creating Future Today, Going Beyond the Pandemic" ISC-ADAMAS 2020. More than 200 participants from around the world participated in the conference.

This virtual International Student Conference is a unique global platform where undergraduate and graduate students from different educational institutions from all over the world can share their thoughts and ideas and learn from each other about building the future they desire. This is the first initiative organized by the Adamas University to create a platform exclusively for students to express their voices and opinions on the educational process in 2020, their expectations for 2021, their views on how to create a futuristic educational paradigm today, and how future education can truly respond to their needs.

1st and 2nd year students of Omsk State Agrarian University, accompanied by staff of the International Relations Department, were able to prepare five presentations:

  1.  Artem Korobeynikov, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Economics - "Digitalization of the educational process".
  2.  Artem Malikov, Elizaveta Osipenko, 1st year students of the Faculty of Economics - "The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on education in the future".
  3.  Chuyanova Galina, 1st year student of the Faculty of Economics - "My opinion about distance learning in the context of a pandemic".
  4. Alisa Seliverstova, 1st year student of the Faculty of Economics - "The world after coronavirus".

Elizaveta Osipenko gave a greeting speech on behalf of Omsk SAU during the inaugural session. "We believe that the situation around the world became a trigger for our development. In 2020, development of new professions that can now be mastered online is a topic that is very up-to-date.  Now we are open to new opportunities, we can change our lives and create something new and unique. Our students are ready to cooperate and communicate with other foreign students, overcome language barriers, and conquer new heights."

Student reviews:

Artem Korobeynikov:

«On the 5th of December, there was a conference organized by an Indian University. The focal topic was the educational process during the Covid-19 pandemics. Participants from all over the world discussed problems and their solutions, opportunities that coronavirus gave to us, pros and cons of online education. Omsk, Moscow and Kamchatka were Russian regions that participated in the event. As for other countries, there was India, Morocco, the Philippines and many others.

Presentations were exciting and memorable, and participants used arguments that made us think about other issues in this field. Personally, I found large holes in my knowledge of English, and now I understand what skills I need to improve. I liked this conference a lot, that was marvelous experience that pushed me to work on other international projects. I really advise my classmates and other students to take part in such events to broaden their minds and learn something new from people that live in other countries.

Elizaveta Osipenko:

On December 5, the Indian Adamas University organized the international conference, and for me it was the very first experience of participating in an event that was held only in English. I was very worried, but at the same time interested, because this is an incredible opportunity not only to hear the opinions of students from other countries, but also to participate together with them! This online forum was a big step forward in overcoming our language barriers, in overcoming ourselves and becoming truly international students. I believe that it was a great luck not to miss such an opportunity, because we received incredible emotions, and it was valuable experience for us. And even though I'm only the 1st year student now, I know for sure that I won't stop on what I have already achieved!

I would like to express my deep gratitude to both the forum organizers and Oksana Kozlova, who was able to navigate us to real international activities through our fears. I'm also grateful to Yana Leven, who supervised us throughout the day and gave us valuable pieces of advice. Thank you very much! This is a great start for us!

Congratulations to our students on their successful performance! We wish you go on participating in different international activities!
