The Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Novosibirsk visited Omsk SAU

On April 3, Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Novosibirsk Aibek Akmatbekovich Aidarbekov arrived at Omsk. Part of his visit was a meeting with Omsk State Agrarian University officials. He was accompanied by Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in Omsk Nursultan uulu Isabek and a representative of the Department of International and Interregional Cooperation of the Ministry of Economy of the Omsk region.

This is the first diplomatic visit of Mr. A.A. Aidarbekov to the Omsk region. His schedule was intense—visits to Omsk State Agrarian University, regional enterprises, and various organizations of national economy and agriculture. During the visit, head of the diplomatic mission of the Kyrgyz Republic in Novosibirsk, whose consular district covers six Federal subjects of Russia, noted the tremendous success of the Omsk region in developing agriculture. He also said that the Kyrgyz Republic is interested in expanding cooperation in agriculture and training personnel for the agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan.

Several members of Omsk SAU administration attended the meeting with Consul General: Rector Oksana Viktorovna Shumakova, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities Svetlana Yurievna Komarova, Vice-Rector for Research Yuriy Ivanovich Novikov. 

During the meeting, Oksana Viktorovna spoke about the educational, research and innovative potential of the university, development prospects and the current state of affairs. The participants discussed strategic development of international cooperation between Omsk State Agrarian University and research organizations of Kyrgyzstan and the potential for further expansion of cooperation in the areas of personnel training for the agricultural sector of Kyrgtzstan.

The Vice-Rector for Research reported to the Consul General on existing projects to develop cooperation with universities of Kyrgyzstan, in particular, on the annual participation of students of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin in the intercultural student forum Student's Vision of the World and other events hosted by Intercultural Student Center of Omsk State Agrarian University. Since 2015 Omsk State Agrarian University is a member of the Universities Alliance of the Silk Road (a non-governmental and non-profit organization aimed at promoting transparency and international cooperation in higher education), which includes seven universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Oksana Viktorovna Shumakova confirmed that Omsk State Agrarian University intends to cooperate in such areas as joint educational programs with agricultural universities of the Kyrgyz Republic; interaction with educational centers and schools to ensure the popularization of professions for the agro-industrial complex; the development of advanced training and retraining programs in the areas that are most relevant for the Kyrgyz Republic; the development of research cooperation of universities via organizing internships and conducting joint research.

Aibek Akmatbekovich Aidarbekov officially invited representatives of Omsk State Agrarian University to come to the Kyrgyz Republic in the near future as part of the official and business delegation of the Omsk region.

Undoubtedly, the visit will promote research cooperation between Omsk SAU and leading educational and scientific institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
