The meeting with Erasmus+ graduates was attended by employees of the international relations department and faculty members responsible for international activities, as well as students of various faculties interested in studying abroad, including new Erasmus+ fellows.
The purpose of the event was to discuss the practical aspects of participation in the Erasmus+ program, exchange experience and advice on how to better adapt to life in Europe and study at host universities, what mistakes can be avoided and how to use the period of mobility as much as possible.
Veronika and Galina appreciated the friendliness towards international students both from the administration of the host universities and from other students. The girls spoke warmly about the attitude of foreign teachers to students. They also talked about what courses they attended at the host universities, how the choice of subjects they studied before the start of mobility and their replacement during it, discussed the differences between the approach to education in Europe and Russia and emphasized that studying at both host universities took place for them in a more informal setting, which made it easier to adapt to the new learning environment and made learning more productive.
Both participants noted that participation in the Erasmus+ program had a positive impact on their language skills, made them more independent and self-confident and allowed them to realize what they want from life, study and career.
It is also worth noting that under the terms of the program, Veronika and Galina received a monthly scholarship, thanks to which they could not only pay for accommodation and food, but also travel to other European countries in their free time.
At the end of the meeting, the graduates of Erasmus+ 2021/2022 advised the students of Omsk SAU to learn foreign languages; develop their competencies and participate in the cultural and scientific activities of the university in order to write a convincing motivation letter; not to be afraid to participate in international programs and apply for participation in various foreign scholarship programs.
