Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Sciences, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Resources Exploitation
The faculty was founded in 2014 by uniting the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Sciences and Ecology (founded in 1964) with the Faculty of Water Engineering (founded in 1929). In total, more than 8000 specialists, 80 Candidates of Sciences and 30 Doctors of Sciences have been trained at the faculty.
Currently, the faculty trains more than 1120 graduates and 32 postgraduate students. There are 46 faculty staff members, including 9 Doctors of Sciences and 32 Candidates of Sciences, who are the leading specialists at specialized organizations.
The quality of human life is determined by the quality of the environment. At the faculty, students are taught to assess the state of the most important objects of human life and protect them. When doing their studies, research projects and internship, students master modern methods of diagnostics of the state of soils, water, plants and products. Using the results of diagnostics, students assess the quality of soil, water resources, crop production, etc., predict environmental effects and make recommendations for rational use of these resources.
Highly qualified teachers train future specialists in well-equipped laboratories and in IT rooms. In order to make training more effective, the faculty successfully cooperates with research organization FSBI "Siberian branch of agrarian science", Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Management, the Omskiy State Center of Agrochemical Service, Vodokanal, and with other scientific and production institutions of the city and the region.
As a result, the educational process is closely linked to research and production, which allows students to get ready to future industrial activities. Many students do their internship in Great Britain, the USA, Finland, Germany and Poland.
There is an opportunity to do master or postgraduate studies.
