Omsk SAU application for Fulbright ETA program was approved

Each year, the Fulbright program (ETA) sends about 25 American specialists to Russia as assistants to help English teachers. Each participant of the program is assigned to a university in any of the Russian cities, except those in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The duration of the program is 1 year. The Moscow office of the program deals with the distribution of participants.

Omsk SAU participates in the program for the first time. Our application was approved, and the assistant teacher is expected to visit us next year.

Young graduates of American universities with little teaching experience are participants of the program. Usually, they have a degree of Bachelor of Arts. Participants can teach spoken English describe features of American culture.

It is expected that incoming assistants will participate in the life of the local community. For example, they can organize an English language club or an American club, participate in an association of English teachers, or volunteer at local schools.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participants are expected to come to Russia after 15th of January, 2021.
