1. Category A (AAA, AA+, AA, A+, A): High quality performance;

2. Category B (BBB+, BBB, BB+, BB, B+, B): Good quality performance;

3. Category C (CCC+, CCC, CC+, CC, C+, C): Sufficient quality performance;

4. Category D (DDD+, DDD, DD+, DD, D+, D): Inadequate quality of education of scientific activity and demand for graduates by employers with significant risk (Conditional failure).

This time, Omsk SAU was assigned the BB+ category (in 2017-2019, – it had category B).

Only 32 agrarian HEIs are present in this ranking. Among them, Omsk State Agrarian University holds 2nd place.

Out of the 7 Omsk universities represented in the ranking, 3 universities are higher in the ranking than Omsk SAU. Omsk State University holds 75th place among Russian HEIs (category BBB+). What are the ARES criteria? First of all, it is the quality of education and strategies to improve it. This criterion has the largest weight (35%) during the assessment. Quality of education includes the use of new technologies in education, monitoring education quality, training teachers, developing innovative infrastructure, etc.) 20% are given to the University's research activities, 15% goes to international activities, 15% relates to interaction with employers, and last 15% goes to the regional significance of the university. This approach allows universities for the Humanities to take a decent place in the ranking along with technical universities.
