A New Composition of the University's Academic Council Has Been Elected

On February 4, due to the expiration of the term of office of the current Academic Council on February 15 of this year, a conference of employees and students of the Omsk State Agrarian University (Omsk SAU) was held to elect a new composition of the council.

For this purpose, an organizational committee was established to prepare and conduct the conference. Chairperson of the Organizing Committee: S.Y. Komarova, Vice-Rector for education.Members of the Organizing Committee:Y.I. Novikov, Vice-Rector for research , deputy chairperson of the Organizing Committee); D.K. Ovchinnikov, Chairperson of the Primary Trade Union Organization of Employees of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology(Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)of Omsk SAU of the Trade Union of  Agricultural Workers; N.V. Yushkova, Head of the Legal Department of Legal Support and HR Department; E.V. Bezuglova, Assistant to the Vice-Rector of the Secretariat of the Rector's Office (Rector's Office Affairs and Organizational Development Service).

The total number of delegates to the conference was set at 87 people by the decision of the university's Academic Council dated December 18, 2024. The following persons are members of the Academic Council ex officio: the Rector of the university (who is its Chairperson), the Vice-Rectors, the President, the Directors of the branch, college, and institutes of the university, and the Deans of the faculties. Thus, 16 out of the 27 members of the Academic Council are members by virtue of their positions. The other 11 members of the university's Academic Council are elected at the conference by secret ballot.

84 out of 87 delegates were present at the election conference on February 4. The presiding officer of the conference was S.Y. Komarova, Vice-Rector for Education. In accordance with the regulations on the procedure for forming the new composition of the Omsk SAU Academic Council, elections were held for the elective part of the new Academic Council, consisting of 11 people. Additionally, in accordance with the regulations on the Academic Council, 16 staff members joined the new Academic Council ex officio. Thus, the new Academic Council now consists of 27 people.
