Doctoral Studies

Omsk SAU provides opportunities for doctoral students to conduct research on scientific specialties:

  • 06.02.01 – Diagnosis of diseases and therapy of animals, pathology, oncology and morphology of animals;
  • 06.02.02 – Veterinary microbiology, virology, epizootology, mycology with mycotoxicology and immunology;
  • 03.02.08 – Ecology (biology) (Biological Sciences);
  • 06.01.04 – Agrochemistry (Agricultural Sciences);
  • 06.01.05 – Breeding and seed production of agricultural plants (Agricultural Sciences)
  • 08.00.05 –Economics and management of national economy (by industry and field of activity, including: economics, organization and management of enterprises, industries, agribusiness complexes and agriculture), Economic Sciences.

Duration of study: 3 years.

Application process is opened from July 15 to September 30 of the current year. Competitive admissions for doctoral studies are conducted from October 1 to December 31 of the current year.


Requirements for an employee to get into doctoral studies

An employee carrying out pedagogical and (or) scientific (research) activity in a sending organization may be accepted for doctoral studies.

Eligibility criteria:

a) Candidate of Science Degree or a scientific degree obtained in a foreign country, recognized in the Russian Federation, the holder of which is granted the same academic and (or) professional rights as the Candidate of Science in the Russian Federation;

b) at least 5 years of teaching and (or) scientific work experience;

c) at least 1 year of work experience in the sending organization;

d) scientific achievements, confirmed by the list of works published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and (or) patents for inventions, patents (certificates) for utility models, patents for industrial standards, patents for breeding inventions, certificates of state registration of programs for electronic computing machines, databases, topographies of integrated circuits registered in the standard procedure;

e) a dissertation plan.


Application procedure for doctoral studies

1. Employee’s application addressed to the Rector with attachment of the following documents:

a) the original or a copy of the document (s) proving the identity and citizenship of the employee;

b) a letter of request on the participation of the employee in the competitive admission, signed by the head of the sending organization and affixed with the seal of the sending organization;

c) the original or a copy of the Candidate of Science Degree Diploma or a scientific degree obtained in a foreign country, recognized in the Russian Federation, the holder of which is granted the same academic and (or) professional rights as the Candidate of Science in the Russian Federation;

d) an extract from the employment record book including the teaching and (or) scientific work experience for at least 5 years and work experience in the sending organization for at least 1 year;

e) a list of works published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and (or) patents, signed by the head (authorized person) of the sending organization and affixed with the seal of the sending organization;

e) a dissertation plan;

2. Admission to doctoral studies is carried out on a competitive basis.
