Campus
Life at the University takes place on three campuses, two of which are located in the city of Omsk and the third one is in the town of Tara. The campuses of Omsk SAU are convenient territories with a developed infrastructure.
Campus 1
Campus 1 is located near the Irtysh River in an ecologically clean area of the University Arboretum. There are more than 3,500 thousand trees and natural and artificial ponds. This is a true fairy tale in the reality of a modern city. You can walk around the Campus using a virtual tour.
On the territory of Campus 1 of Omsk SAU are located:
- 10 comfortable dormitories for non-resident students;
- 6 academic buildings, including the main academic building of Omsk SAU.
There are all the conditions in order to implement the most challenging ideas. Student business incubator, coworking centers, training and experimental farm, numerous laboratories, Institute of Additional Education are actively functioning. Everything is within walking distance.
The territory resembles a small town. There are shops, a cafe, a clinic, a hairdresser, a laundry and even a kindergarten. The student canteen is open every day, and food points are available in each academic building.
If you cannot imagine your life without sports, then a gym, a stadium and a variety of sports clubs are definitely for you.
The Student Cultural Center is located between the 4th academic building and the Botanic Garden. This is a spacious room with parquet and assembly halls, numerous rooms for individual lessons. The number of clubs is increasing every year. Students are engaged in dances of various styles (folk, street, ballroom, modern), singing and drama classes. There is also the “Kedr” KVN team.
The University pays special attention to science. Teachers and students devote a lot of time to it. On the territory of Campus 1 there is a Scientific Agricultural Library. The total number of storage units is more than 1 million copies. Of particular value is the collection of rare books, numbering over 6,000 documents – these are publications of the 16th – early 20th centuries in Russian and foreign languages.
There are a post office (644008) and a passport office in the dormitory No. 3, a medical center in dormitory No. 10, and a hairdresser in dormitory No. 9.
In summer these territories bloom with all colors, associating with the count's estate with manicured lawns, flowering flower beds, shady alleys. The fountain "Crocodile and Frogs", located near the main academic building, on a bright and hot sunny day pleases the residents of the city and guests with refreshing splashes of water. By the way, in 2017 the fountain celebrated its 80th anniversary.
Students of the following faculties study and live on Campus 1:
- Agrotechnological;
- Agrochemistry, Soil Sciences, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Resources Exploitation;
- Land Management;
- Faculty of Economics;
- Faculty of Technical Service of Agroindustrial Complexes.
Campus 2 and Campus in the town of Tara
Students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Zootechny, Merchandising and Standardization study on Campus 2. The campus is located near the city center, not far from the bus stop "Rabinovicha Street". In walking distance there are academic buildings, a clinical laboratory, four comfortable dormitories, a library, a gym and a swimming pool.
On Campus of the branch in the city of Tara a modern dormitory for 263 places, located in a five-minute walk from all academic buildings, has been built for non-resident students and students of preparatory courses.
Student public organizations are actively functioning at University. In order to ensure safe living, a student unit of law enforcement “Kirovets” was created.
There is also a Student Council, which members help first year students to adapt to their new living conditions; support students, filling their lives with interesting and vibrant events: “Student Initiation ceremony”, evening parties, discos, celebration of different holidays such as Russian Students Day, New Year’s, International Women’s Day, Defender of the Fatherland Day, etc.. The student council of dormitories, together with the University’s structures, is conducting a competition for the best room.
In Omsk SAU optimal conditions have been created for comfortable living, preparation for classes and leisure.
Virtual tour of Omsk SAU
A virtual tour of Omsk SAU is a series of more than 40 circular panoramas with which you can walk around the University and admire its landscapes, look into academic buildings and classrooms, the library and the sports complex, and other rooms.
In the virtual tour, you can easily move from the main campus of the University to the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, then to the College of Agribusiness and vice versa. Even though in reality academic buildings are located across the territory of the city of Omsk, with the help of a 3D tour they gather in a complete picture.
