A student of Omsk SAU received a Chinese government scholarship

Scholarship program of the People's Republic of China government is the opportunity to study in leading universities of the country at the expense of funds from the budget of the PRC. Receiving a government scholarship is considered one of the most prestigious and is granted to students from different countries on the basis of their selection documents.

The valuable recognition of our students' achievements and the quality of their training was evaluated by the government Commission of the People's Republic of China and selected Aset Madiev, a graduate of the land management faculty of Omsk State Agrarian University, to study at the northwestern University of agriculture and forestry in Yangling, China.

Northwestern University of agriculture and forestry (NWAFU) is one of the flagship agricultural Universities in China. The university, as well as Omsk SAU, is interested in establishing international cooperation at all levels, including inter-institutional exchanges of students. The studying will take place under the 1+2 program, which implies one year of studying the Chinese language and adaptation in the field of education and 2 years of training in the chosen profile at the University.

Aset Madiev shared his impressions about the process of preparation for the competition and training:

«Quite recently I learned about my enrollment at the northwestern University of agriculture and forestry (Yangling, China) and, of course, I am still under an incredible impression. I still have a lot of questions to solve, but i can't do it now because of the pandemic. The only thing I know is that all of this would not have happened if it wasn't for the tremendous help from the international department of our University.

A year ago, I couldn't even talk about the weather, let alone correspond with someone in English.  For me, it was an incredible effort to make myself say even the banal «I am a student of Omsk State Agrarian University». But all this goes into the background when there is motivation and people who sincerely want to help you. And now, by taking preparatory courses and communicating in English with the staff of the International relations department, I am improving my language skills.

Of course, I would like to express my gratitude to the teaching staff of the Department of Geodesy and Remote sensing, and in particular, to my scientific supervisor, Vasily Bykov, for they gave me the knowledge that is competitive all over the world».
