Ceremonial Event “Day of the Agricultural and Food Industry Worker at Omsk SAU”

On November 26, a concert was held at the Student Palace of Culture dedicated to two holidays at once: the Day of the Agricultural and Food Industry Worker and the Day of the Higher School Teacher.

The festive atmosphere could already be felt in the foyer: everyone could take photos at the beautiful photo zone “Autumn Arch of Omsk SAU” and enjoy the faculty exhibition.

The event brought together the best representatives of the agricultural sector of the Omsk region, whose scientific, educational, and other achievements have been recognized with numerous honors—titles, certificates, and letters of gratitude. Attendees included representatives of government authorities, leaders of major agro-industrial enterprises in the region, Omsk SAU partners, veterans, and simply good friends.

Omsk SAU is home to outstanding people who year after year prove their professionalism with high distinctions. As part of the 7th Professorial Forum “Education, Science, Family — the Foundation of Russia’s Development”, laureates of the national awards of the Russian Professorial Assembly “Professor of the Year” were honored: In the category “Economic Sciences” — Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Land Management Yuri Mikhailovich Rogatnev; In the category “Veterinary Sciences” for the Siberian Federal District — Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor of the Department of Anatomy and Histology, Physiology and Pathological Anatomy Gennady Alekseevich Khonin.

The ceremonial meeting was opened by the Rector of Omsk SAU, Doctor of Economic Science, Professor Oksana Viktorovna Shumakova:

“For the third year now, we have been celebrating these two wonderful holidays together. Agriculture is a strategically important industry, both for our region and for the country, as it addresses crucial tasks related to ensuring food security. It is developing dynamically, with the use of modern technologies, machinery, equipment, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. Together with our partners, we are implementing numerous projects. Thanks to them, this year we opened 11 specialized classrooms. More than 150 students took part in the sowing and harvesting campaigns. Student groups are also developing dynamically. Dear friends, I congratulate you on these wonderful holidays! A Letter of Appreciation from Omsk SAU, for many years of impeccable work, active participation in the educational, scientific, and social life of the university, and in honor of the 85th anniversary, was awarded to Nelli Alekseevna Balashova, a veteran of the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use.

The Winner’s Diploma of the University’s Internal Professional Skills Competition among Teaching Staff of Omsk SAU was awarded to: In the category “Professor of the Year” — Lyudmila Vladimirovna Fomenko, Professor of the Department of Anatomy, Histology, Physiology, and Pathological Anatomy, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; In the category “Associate Professor of the Year” — Svetlana Petrovna Chibis, Associate Professor of the Department of Horticulture, Forestry, and Plant Protection, Faculty of Agrotechnology; In the category “Young Lecturer of the Year” — Ksenia Viktorovna Medanova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Land Management, Faculty of Land Management.

Students of Omsk SAU became prize-winners in the finals of the National Technological Strategy Championship “Professionals of the Future” in the field of agronomic process development, “Agro Cup-2024,” where participants from across the country demonstrated their knowledge and presented innovative solutions in agriculture.

Recently, our students returned from the Anniversary All-Russian Student Teams Gathering, dedicated to the 65th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the organization’s founding. As part of the program, they took part in the All-Russian Professional Skills Contest for Student Teams “Work is Cool” in the category of agricultural teams — and became winners.

Members of the student teams also participated in the All-Russian Gathering of Specialized Student Teams of Agricultural Universities of Russia, where the results of the work semester were summarized. Prize-winners of the All-Russian Contest of Agricultural Teams of Universities of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia in 2024 included the teams “Zemfakovets,” “Faun,” “Niva,” and “Ultramarin.”

Oksana Viktorovna awarded a Letter of Appreciation from Omsk SAU for conscientious performance of official duties to: Maslovskaya Ekaterina Alekseevna, senior dispatcher of the dean’s office of the Agrotechnological Faculty; Martemyanov Anton Dmitrievich, laboratory assistant of the educational and research laboratory for the diagnostics of mineral nutrition and quality of agricultural crops at the university experimental farm; Eikhvald Kseniya Aleksandrovna, assistant at the Department of Ecology, Environmental Management, and Biology.

A Letter of Appreciation from Omsk SAU for active participation in sowing and harvesting campaigns at the fields of the university’s educational and experimental farm, conscientious attitude to work, and excellent results during practical training, the following was awarded to: Zvykov Aleksey Aleksandrovich, student of the Agrotechnological Faculty; Uslamin Vladislav Igorevich, student of the Agrotechnological Faculty; Inkizhekova Lyudmila Aleksandrovna, student of the Agrotechnological Faculty; Khokhlov Yaroslav Vitalievich, student of the Agrotechnological Faculty; Korolenko Boris Aleksandrovich, student of the Faculty of Technical Service in the Agro-Industrial Complex.

To foster interest in agricultural education starting from school, Omsk SAU has opened 63 “agro-classes”, which serve as a connecting link in this process. For the fourth time, the university hosted the Regional Gathering of Agro-Class Students, which brings together schoolchildren from the Omsk and Novosibirsk Oblast and is aimed at preserving traditions, raising the prestige, and increasing the social significance of agricultural professions.

Omsk State Agrarian University has trained more than 120,000 specialists who work in key areas of agro-industrial production, as well as in regional and federal government bodies of the country. Today, our partners and alumni head companies that have become bases for student internships, teacher training placements, scientific research, and the development of educational programs.

Congratulations also came from the pupils of Irtysh Secondary School – the choreographic group “Tonus” of the Irtysh House of Culture.
