Events Facilitating Graduate Employment

In December and January, students from various faculties met with potential employers at a series of career-focused events.

On December 6th, an off-site open class was held for third-year students in the "Agrochemistry and Agro-soil science" program. This class, which was part of the "Diagnostics of Crop Quality" course, focused on the topics of "Indicators of Crop Quality, Methods for Their Determination and Characteristics of Grain Quality". The lesson was held at the seed breeding center of the grain quality laboratory, under the guidance of Irina Vladimirovna Pakhotina, head of the laboratory and Candidate of Agricultural Sciences. Students learned about the methodology for analyzing grain quality and performed a laboratory exercise to determine key quality indicators.

On January 17th, the University Agribusiness College hosted an open lecture for first, second, and third-year students in the "Land and Property Relations" and "Land Management" programs. The event was held in collaboration with representatives from a partner enterprise, the municipal agency 'Omskarkhitektura', and covered the topic "Geodetic Equipment Used in Cadastral and Land Management Surveys."

Representatives from the agency's Topographic and Geodetic Works Department, Chief Specialist Anastasia Gennadyevna Krasko and Lead Specialist Roman Alekseevich Krasko, discussed modern methods for processing field survey data and the use of state geodetic control points and measuring instruments. They emphasized the importance of the students' academic coursework and practical experience for their future careers.

On January 20, as part of the "Professionalitet" federal program, first-year students from the University Agribusiness College specializing in "Technology of Food Products of Animal Origin" visited the Unilever Rus LLC facility, which produces the well-known "Inmarko" ice cream. During the tour, students familiarized themselves with the production technology for various types of ice cream and the equipment used in the process. At the conclusion of the tour, participants tasted the company's products.

Events within the framework of cooperation between Omsk State Agrarian University and the budgetary institution "Regional Center for Career Guidance"

On December 5, the Regional Center for Career Guidance held a training session for final-year students of the "Agrochemistry and Agro-soil science" program titled "The Power of Calmness". The session was led by Tatyana Aleksandrovna Kez, a specialist from the Department of Professional Adaptation and Career Development. She taught the students how to deal with stress and explained the concept of stress resilience. During the training, students learned how to control their emotions in stressful situations, such as a job interview, and received advice on how to adapt to the job market and find employment in their chosen field.

These events help graduates gain valuable skills and knowledge that are essential for their success in the workplace.
