On December 16, the student team of the Faculty of Land Management organized an educational quest, “Earth – Our Home,” for students of grades 8Б, 9Б, 9В, and 10Б of the Center for Therapeutic Pedagogy and Differentiated Learning under the guidance of Olga Nikolaevna Dolmatova, Dean of the Faculty of Land Management, and Sairan Adilbekovich Baltabekov, the assistant of the Department of Land Management.
Following a draw, four teams were formed, each tasked with completing five stations:
1. Land Management Station – Students acted as land managers and cadastral engineers, working with terrain and the correct placement of real estate objects. They applied knowledge gained from students in the 21.03.02 Land Management and Cadastral Studies program.
2. Geodesy Station – Schoolchildren were introduced to geodetic instruments and terminology through interactive puzzles. Participants solved riddles with great interest and learned more about the challenging yet fascinating science of geodesy.
3. Map-Copter Station – This station reinforced previously acquired knowledge of geodesy and land management in an interactive format. Students learned about unmanned aerial vehicles and satellite antennas, while students in the 21.05.01 Applied Geodesy program explained the applications and functions of these new technologies.
4. Measure and Calculate Station – Students practiced measurement skills using a laser distance meter to measure the length and width of the classroom and calculated its area using mathematical formulas.
5. Best Home Station – The final station focused on reflection. Participants expressed the most memorable moments of the quest by drawing on posters and leaving positive feedback.
At the conclusion of the event, Olga Nikolaevna thanked the students for their active participation and engagement, congratulated them on the upcoming New Year, and presented them with sweet gifts.
The educational quest “Earth – Our Home” completed the cycle of the scientific and educational club program, which included 11 sessions and engaged students from grades 5 to 10. The club aims to develop students’ cognitive abilities, activity, and creative independence. Participants were introduced to the basics of cartography, unmanned aerial vehicles, and the interconnections of physical phenomena as they appear in science, gaining new knowledge about the Earth and its natural resources.
The Faculty of Land Management expresses gratitude to the Center’s leadership and to Olga Vladimirovna Demidova, Deputy Director for Scientific and Methodological Work at the Center for Therapeutic Pedagogy and Differentiated Learning, for their collaboration.
