"Movement of the First" in Omsk SAU

On February 8, the Russian Movement of Children and Youth held a single day of opening its university-based departments.

Zinaida Goldman, a member of the Movement, proposed it on January 25 at a meeting between Vladimir Putin and students of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The President supported the idea and recommended spreading it across the country. The main task is "to promote the timely professional orientation of children in high school."

By the Day of Russian Science, about 100 universities opened departments of RMCY. "Movement of the First" presented a large educational and entertainment program—master classes, thematic lectures, scientific excursions, and quizzes dedicated to Russian scientists, their inventions, and the latest technologies.

In Omsk State Agrarian University, the RMCY department was officially opened at the University College of Agribusiness. The opening ceremony was attended by Omsk SAU and University College of Agribusiness students and activists.

Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy Andrey Ivanovich Zabudsky congratulated the students and said,

"Movement of the First" is a diverse community that has united a variety of organizations and movements. The initiatives and projects that you propose for our university, region, and country will always depend only on you and on your will. Good luck, and always be "on the move"!

Grigory Alexandrovich Gurov, Chairman of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth "Movement of the First":

"We plan that more than 100,000 schoolchildren will be able to touch science by attending various events organized by the Movement. On February 8, about 200 venues across the country will be open to young visitors. And these are not only museums and nature reserves but also exclusive research centers and workshops of large enterprises. We want the guys to see not just Russian scientific and technological achievements, but also the potential for their own future professional and scientific development."

Kristina Evgenievna Dinner, Chairman of the Council of the regional branch of "Movement of the First" in the Omsk region, congratulated students on the beginning of the path in the Movement, noting the significant achievements of the university in working with young people, since a university is a place where current student youth agenda is formed.

At the end of the solemn opening ceremony, the initiative group headed by a College student Katerina Gurina passed official documents for creating the RMCY department to Kristina Evgenievna.

Then, the participants had a roundtable discussion about the future interaction of Omsk State Agrarian University public organizations with the RMCY department.

Russian Movement of Children and Youth was founded by order of the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and the foundation meeting was held on July 20, 2022. The "Movement of the First" got its name following the results of voting at the First Congress of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth in Moscow, which took place from December 18 to 20. On July 21, the delegates also approved 12 priority areas of work—Ecology, Healthy Lifestyle, Tourism, Education, Volunteering, etc.—and 11 values that the movement shares, including Life and Dignity, Patriotism, Goodness and Justice, Creative Work, Strong Family, and others.

Among the members' main missions are "To be with Russia", "To be a Person", "To be Together", "To be on the Move", "To be the First". The event was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).

The Movement work is aimed at organizing leisure activities, creating opportunities for comprehensive self-development, and ensuring the professional orientation of children.

A kid can join the Movement at the age of six. RMCY membership is available for minors who study at school, college or university.
