Nowadays, environmental education for young people is a key area of working with university and college students. At the start of their training, students try themselves as organizers and participants of environmental actions and events, thereby acquiring basic knowledge in the field of environmental protection.
Over 50 university students from Omsk HEIs (Omsk State Agrarian University and University College of Agribusiness, Omsk State Pedagogical University, Omsk Industrial and Economic College, and Siberian Law University) participated in the game. They formed 11 teams.
The game consisted of four stages:
1. The team's business card.
2. Contest "General Questions".
3. Competition among captains.
4. "Your Own Game" – a blitz survey.
5. Environmental situation
Teachers from the Department of Ecology, Natural Resource Management and Biology, a team of the Omsk SAU volunteer center “Globus”, and members of university branch of the NGO environmental volunteers “Delai!" participated in the event. The jury included several officials and university staff members, including:
1. Chairwoman of the Omsk Regional Public Ecological Organization "Earth - Our Common Home", Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ecology, Natural Resource Management and Biology of the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use of Omsk State Agrarian University Nina Alekseevna Popolzukhina;
2. Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology, Natural Resource Management and Biology of the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use of Omsk State Agrarian University, Candidate of Biological Sciences Oksana Alexandrovna Konovalova;
3. Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology, Natural Resource Management and Biology of the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use of Omsk State Agrarian University, Candidate of Biological Sciences Alexander Nikolayevich Korolev;
4. Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology, Natural Resource Management and Biology of the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use of Omsk State Agrarian University, Candidate of Biological Sciences Elena Gennadievna Bobrenko;
5. Head of the regional headquarters of the NGO “Union of Volunteers of Russia”, Head of the "Center for Social and Environmental Initiatives", Director of the intellectual center "Perspektiva", Coordinator of the federal project "Clean Games" in the Omsk region, Coordinator of the federal environmental project "Sdelaem" in the Omsk region Gulnara Valikhanovna Mukasheva.
At the opening ceremony, Chairwoman of "Earth - Our Common Home" Nina Popolzukhina welcomed the students.
Second-year students of the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use Kiryanova Lilia and Vakhrusheva Evgeniya hosted the game.
Three teams were proclaimed winners of the game:
I place – the team "Nightingale Chicks" (Siberian Law University);
II place – team "GreenTeam" (Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use, Omsk State Agrarian University);
III place – team "Biota" (Agrotechnological Faculty, Omsk State Agrarian University).
Congratulations to the winners of the game! We also express our gratitude to our guests from other Omsk universities and colleges.
The winners were awarded diplomas and prizes, and all the participants received certificates.
The event was implemented within the framework of an agreement on the provision of grants from the federal budget in the form of subsidies to citizens of the Russian Federation — winners of the all-Russian competition of youth projects among individuals in 2022 within the framework of the ecological and educational project “#Ecosistema_55”, headed by a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soil Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use Ekaterina Loy, mentor - Head of the Center of Youth Initiatives Samat Mukanov.
