Omsk SAU Hosts Scientific-Methodological Seminar “Academic Mobility Programs: Challenges and Opportunities”

On December 13, the Faculty of Land Management hosted a scientific-methodological seminar titled “Academic Mobility Programs: Challenges and Opportunities”, attended by faculty members, students, master’s and PhD candidates.

The event was opened by Olga Nikolaevna Dolmatova, Dean of the Faculty of Land Management and Associate Professor, PhD in Economics, who welcomed the audience, introduced the guests, and presented the heads of the graduating departments.

Yana Yakovlevna Leven, Translator at the International Relations Department of Omsk SAU, delivered a report titled “International Academic Mobility Programs: Opportunities and Prospects”. She outlined current mobility programs available for students and faculty, emphasizing the mandatory foreign language proficiency requirements for certain programs, and thanked the faculty for effective international collaboration.

Saule Kazhapovna Makenova, PhD, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Land Management at S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, shared her experience in applying for grants jointly with international partners and described the requirements for supervising faculty.

Evgenia Viktorovna Ball, Analyst at the Innovation Management Department of Omsk SAU, highlighted the main activities of the University Technology Entrepreneurship Platform project in which Omsk SAU students participated. In 2024, seven trainings were conducted with a total of 452 participants, including 144 students from the Faculty of Land Management. The international entrepreneurship competition “Challenge Cup” under the One Belt, One Road initiative sparked many questions from faculty and students, as the faculty submitted two projects led by Dean O.N. Dolmatova and Associate Professor M.N. Veselova.

Yulia Stanislavovna Yusova, Associate Professor, PhD in Economics, Department of Land Management, Omsk SAU, discussed the specifics of applying for joint grants with foreign scholars, the necessary conditions for receiving grant support, and priority areas for collaboration with international research teams.

Gulnara Gafurovna Bikbulatova, Associate Professor, PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Department of Geodesy and Remote Sensing, Omsk SAU, reported on student participation in external projects of the Russian Federation in geodesy programs at the Faculty of Land Management.

In the closing part of the seminar, Olga Nikolaevna Dolmatova summarized the outcomes, emphasizing opportunities for learning foreign languages at Omsk SAU to apply for international educational and research programs and grants. She thanked the guests for their engaging and informative presentations and for collaborating with the Faculty of Land Management on international initiatives, the acceleration program, entrepreneurship competency trainings, and other activities.
