This year 1183 universities from 84 countries took part in the ranking. Despite the increased competition compared to 2022, Omsk SAU confidently improved its position and took 615th place in 2023, demonstrating significant progress in integrating sustainable practices into various aspects of university activities. It is worth noting that last year we were only in 681st place among 1,050 universities worldwide.
Russia was represented in the rating this year by 48 universities, among which our university took 21st place, which also improved its position compared to the previous year by 7 places. Among “green” Russian agrarian universities Omsk SAU is among the top five universities.
UI Green Metric World University Rankings are held annually since 2010 on the initiative of the University of Indonesia. The ranking measures the sustainability indicators of universities, their commitment to the development of “environmentally friendly” infrastructure. Universities are evaluated on such indicators as: location and infrastructure, energy conservation and climate change, waste management, water resources, transportation policy, education and research. Based on all these indicators, universities are assigned points, which determine their place in the global ranking of the world's greenest universities.
This year, Omsk SAU earned 5940 points for all indicators, which is almost 900 points more than in 2022. The best results were achieved by the university in such criteria as: education (1,525 points); waste management (1,200); transportation policy (1,150); location and infrastructure (990 points).
