Omsk SAU participated in the annual University Alliance of the Silk Road forum

The aim of the forum is to discuss main problems in agricultural education and technologies, study innovative scientific projects and promote more deep exchange of knowledge between the Alliance members.

Participation in the Alliance of Agricultural Education and Scientific-Technical Innovations of the Silk Road forum has become a tradition of Omsk State Agrarian University. Last year forum helped our university to find a new partner - Shanxi Agricultural University. We’ve already organized several events together.

Participants of a plenary discussion have summed up the results that the Alliance members have achieved. Omsk SAU Vice-rector for Research Yuriy Novikov addressed everyone with a welcoming speech. He noted that each meeting lets us find new partners and contribute to internationalization in education and science. Mr. Novikov also thanked Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, an old partner of Omsk SAU, for organizing the forum.

Head of International Relations Department Oksana Kozlova took part in discussing reports given by foreign HEIs. This year, there were 30 reports.

Omsk SAU presentation was devoted to our achievements in ecology, and it was called «Controlling balance of climatically active gases during producing agricultural products in the Omsk Region: research, infrastractures and market prospects». It was prepared by Olga Nezhevlyak, Head of the Department of Ecology, Natural Resource Management and Biology, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, Natalya Goman, Dean of the Faculty of Agrochemistry, Soils Sciences, Ecology, Environmental Engineering and Water Use, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor, and Vitaliy Pomogaev, Vice-rector for Economics and Informatisation, Candidate of Economic Sciences.

We hope that the upcoming research will interest our partners, and together we’ll create an international union for dealing with climate change issues.
