Omsk SAU representatives participated in international forum "Youth of Russia and Turkey: New horizons"

On November 20-26, the international youth forum "Youth of Russia and Turkey: New horizons" was held in Moscow. Russian Ministry of Science, National Youth Council of Russia, MIREA - Russian Technological University and the Gorchakov Fund supported the event. After passing selection procedure, coordinator of the Intercultural Student Center and International Relations Department translator Yana Yakovlevna Leven and a student of the Faculty of Agrotechnology Veronika Nikolaevna Starikova became Omsk SAU representatives of the forum.

The forum was aimed at intensifying cooperation and strengthening ties between Russian and Turkish youth leaders to contribute to the development of international relations. In total, 44 Russian and Turkish participants attended the forum. They represented such sectors as education and science, international relations, agricultural entrepreneurship, volunteering, sports and youth tourism.

The forum was divided into three parts covering interaction with representatives of public associations, organizations and grant support foundations, development of joint international projects, and intercultural aspect.

During the first part of the forum, participants learned about such organizations as: the National Youth Council of Russia, the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Russian House in Ankara, the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund, the Primakov Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation, the Ministry for Youth Affairs "Rosmolodezh", the Russian Union of Youth and the Russian Union of Rural Youth. The participants also visited the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "International News Agency "Rossiya segodnya".

Turkish and Russian participants learned about the current focal areas of cooperations, trends in its development, and funds that are ready to support both Russian and foreign participants who would like to implement joint international projects.

The second part of the forum program included intercultural aspects in international projects implementation, as well as workshops and master classes on writing international projects. Having studied the intercultural peculiarities of the two countries and the principles of writing projects, the participants were divided into working groups to develop joint projects. The teams presented several projects, and experts advised them on how to put these ideas in life.

Intercultural aspect of the forum included several excursions around Moscow, an intercultural evening and a master class on painting spoons.

Such forums let people get acquainted with the cultures of other countries and make new contacts in professional sphere. They also allow jointly developing socially significant international projects.
