Omsk SAU Retains Position in Top 15% of World's Best Universities According to 2025 Global Aggregated Ranking

The aggregator of independent higher education assessment, operated by the portal best-edu.ru, has published the "Global Aggregated Ranking–2025", which includes 3,987 universities worldwide, 165 of which are Russian.

The Global Aggregated Ranking (GAR) has been compiled since 2020. Omsk SAU first entered the GAR and the top-15% in 2024 and, according to the results of the 2025 Global Aggregated Ranking, has retained its position among the world's best universities.

Alongside Omsk SAU, five other Russian agrarian universities and three other universities from Omsk were included in GAR-2025.

The Global Aggregated Ranking is a classification of higher education institutions, ranked based on indicators from 13 world rankings and one public database. Among them are well-known academic rankings that evaluate universities across all aspects of their activities, such as the World University Rankings by Times Higher Education and QS, the Shanghai Ranking, the "Three University Missions" ranking, and the list by U.S. News & World Report, among others.

The compilers of the aggregate list believe it allows for the harmonization of diverse rankings. Not all universities in it are included in all the underlying rankings and the database – appearing in at least two is sufficient. The higher a university places in the individual lists, the higher the score it receives during the aggregation of results. If a university is indeed featured in many rankings, only its seven best placements are considered.
