On November 21–22, Omsk hosted the 4th Young Leaders Forum “Russia – Central Asia”, which brought together over 100 young people from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and various regions of Russia.

Omsk SAU was represented at the forum by members of the Globus Volunteer Center, the Student Council, the Russian Union of Rural Youth, as well as international students of the university. The opening ceremony on the first day featured greetings from Ivan Kolesnik, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Omsk Region; Elena Genova, Acting Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Omsk; and Denis Ashirov, Deputy Head of Rosmolodezh, who addressed the participants via video link. At the panel discussion “Central Asian Countries + Russia: The Role of Youth in Joint Development”, Andrey Zabudskiy, Vice-Rector for social work and youth policy at Omsk SAU, spoke as a panelist, highlighting key drivers of international cooperation between Russia and the Central Asian region.

The forum program included project presentations by student teams in areas such as Media, Culture, History, Economics, Youth Policy, and Political Science.  Omsk SAU students also took part in workshops on baking traditional Russian rasstegai and creative writing, working side by side with peers from other countries.

The event ended with a formal dinner, where participants shared their impressions of the forum and discussed opportunities for future cooperation.

The forum was organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs together with the regional government as part of the work of the International Youth Cooperation Project Office.
