The Silk Road Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance (SAERIA) is a non-governmental, non-profit international platform for multilateral cooperation bringing together agricultural universities, institutions and enterprises from countries and regions along the Silk Road. The supreme governing body of which is the General Assembly of the Alliance, and the regulatory body is the Northwestern Agriculture and Forestry University. Omsk State Agrarian University has been a permanent member of the Silk Road Alliance (SAERIA) since 2016.
Omsk SAU as a leading educational and research center in the field of agriculture, took an active part, presenting its achievements and innovative developments at the IX meeting of the Silk Road Alliance (SAERIA). Omsk State Agrarian University delegated to participate in these events Andrey Ivanovich Zabudsky, Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy and Anastasia Nikolaevna Kriklivaya, Head of the International Relations Department.
On July 9, at the meeting of the Permanent Council of the Alliance of Innovations in the field of Agricultural Education and Research of the Silk Road for 2024, welcoming remarks and presentations were made by Luo Jun, Vice President, Northwestern A&F University, Wu Pute, Secretary General of the Alliance for Innovation in Agricultural Education and Research of the Silk Road, President of the Northwestern A&F University and heads of universities applying to join the Alliance. During the meeting, new participating universities from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Serbia were accepted into the Silk Road Alliance (SAERIA) and the Charter was amended.
On July 10, at the Opening Ceremony of the IX SAERIA Forum and Conference, the participants were greeted by: Mr. Ibrohim Abdurakhmanov, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan; Mr. Kongratbai Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan; Mr. Yu Jun, Ambassador of China to Uzbekistan, Wu Pute, Secretary General of the Alliance for Innovation in Agricultural Education and Silk Road Research, President of the Northwestern A&F University, and Mr. Sohib Islamov, Acting Rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University.
On July 10-12, 51 representatives of the leadership of the universities of the Silk Road Alliance (SAERIA), 120 foreign specialists from 13 foreign countries (China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Mongolia, etc.) and 80 local experts presented reports within the framework of the IX SAERIA Forum and Conference. We exchanged ideas, discussed new theories, methods and approaches to the development of agriculture. Special attention was paid to digital agriculture, biosafety, the fight against hunger and sustainable development, experience was exchanged and joint solutions were developed, and plans were outlined for the Silk Road Alliance for Agricultural Education and Research and Innovation conference next year. The highlight of this forum was the exhibition of agricultural products at the Tashkent State Agrarian University, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, research institutes and higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan. There is also a guided tour of Tashkent State Agrarian University and a cultural performance by students.
July 11th Andrey Ivanovich Zabudsky, Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy of Omsk State Agrarian University, made a presentation on "Promising scientific, innovative, educational, and socio-cultural areas for expanding global cooperation along the Silk Road: the experience of Omsk State Agrarian University. "In his speech, he stressed the importance of cooperation along the Silk Road, they have great potential for the development of scientific research, education and socio-cultural exchange.: "Omsk State Agrarian University strives to develop innovative projects that contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture and the environment. We are open to global cooperation and invite all interested parties to joint projects to achieve common goals and address the current challenges of our time."
During the IX SAERIA Forum and Conference, representatives of Omsk State Agrarian University held talks with the leadership of partner universities (Northwestern A&F University (China), Belarusian State Order of the October Revolution and the Red Banner of Labor Agricultural Academy (Belarus), Mongolian University of Life Sciences (Mongolia), Tajik Agrarian University named after Shirinshoh Shotemur (Tajikistan), S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (Kazakhstan), M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University (Kazakhstan), Shakarim Semey University (Kazakhstan)) to plan a further strategy for the development of cooperation, exchange of experience and knowledge, as well as the need to draw up individual work plans in order to activate international agreements. New partnerships have also been outlined during the negotiations, which will open up prospects and opportunities for cooperation with the countries of China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Agreements have been reached on signing cooperation agreements with Tianjin Agricultural University (China), Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Scriabin (Kyrgyzstan), Tashkent State Agrarian University (Uzbekistan). A memorandum of scientific and research cooperation was signed with the Scientific Research Institute of Plant Genetic Resources of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Omsk State Agrarian University's participation in the IX Innovation Alliance Forum and Conference confirms its commitment to continuous development, improvement of educational and scientific programs, as well as to active participation in the international scientific, educational and socio-cultural community. We hope that the participation of Omsk State Agrarian University in these events will bring fruitful results and contribute to the development of agricultural education, research and strengthen international cooperation with universities of the Alliance of Innovations in the Field of Agricultural Education and Research of the Silk Road (SAERIA).
