Nine universities of Omsk, including Omsk SAU, presented creative performances showcasing the culture and traditions of the peoples of Russia, and organized an interactive exhibition in the foyer.
Our university represented Russian culture.
The interactive stand “His Majesty — Russian Bread” vividly demonstrated Russian traditions and reflected the agricultural profile of our university. The table was decorated with a samovar and bagels, matryoshkas, traditional wooden spoons and rattles, bowls and mugs. The centerpiece was a traditional Russian karavai and bread baked specially for the festival from wheat varieties developed by Omsk SAU scientists. All bakery products were lovingly prepared by faculty of the Department of Food Products and Biotechnology, Professor Natalya Leonidovna Chernopolskaya, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Assistant Yuliya Gennadyevna Rozenfeld.
The stand was presented by students Anna Ionina and Anastasia Karelova (Agrotechnological Faculty), together with staff of the Center for Social and Educational Work and Youth Policy Olga Vasilyevna Menkova and Maria Evgenyevna Kimmel. Creative support came from Oksana Stepanovna Petrova, Director of the Student Palace of Culture.
Festival guests enjoyed tasting bread, solving riddles, learning about Russian traditions, and admiring the originality of the Russian table presented by Omsk SAU.
Our university made a particularly bright impression on stage!
The folk dance ensemble “Sibir” (directed by Kseniya Sergeyevna Shturmer) performed one of the most famous Russian dances, “Kalinka,” recognized as a symbol of Russian folk art, conveying the vigor, spirit, and soul of the Russian people. The folk song ensemble “Istoki” (directed by Evgeniya Rudolfovna Berkunova) performed “The Sky Above the Water.” The heartfelt song captivated the audience and created a unique atmosphere with its melody and profound lyrics.
In total, 64 students from all faculties and the University College of Agribusiness, along with 12 teachers and staff members, participated in the festival. The delegation was accompanied by faculty supervisors and staff responsible for educational work. The group was headed by Andrey Ivanovich Zabudsky, Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy.
The festival became another step towards strengthening friendship among nations, promoting intercultural communication, and fostering the creative potential of students.
