Omsk SAU updated its positions in THE Impact Rankings

Fourth edition of THE Impact Rankings has been published. The prestigious international ranking reflects universities efforts to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It's the second time when our university submitted data, and Omsk SAU confirmed its good performance.

The ranking was launched in 2019 by Times Higher Education ranking agency. At that time, it did not cover all 17 SDGs set by the UN. By 2022, THE Impact Ranking had already become a worldwide-recognized tool of measuring universities sustainability in such areas as ecology, social life, policies and economics. If a participating institution feels that it's doing well in certain SDGs, it can choose it. Later, a team of the ranking agency analysts evaluates each SDG separately, and then calculates overall results using data from 3 SDGs where university performance was the best.

In 2022, Omsk State Agrarian University submitted data on SDG-1 "No Poverty", SDG-2 "Zero Hunger", SDG-3 "Good Health and Well-being", SDG-13 "Climate Action" and SDG-17 "Partnerships for the Goals".

This time, 1,406 universities and colleges around the world took part in the ranking, including 94 universities from Russia, 5 of which are agricultural higher education institutions. Omsk State Agrarian University is on the 70th place in Russia and on the 3rd place among Russian agrarian HEIs.

In the global international ranking, Omsk SAU was ranked in the 1001+ category, just as other Omsk universities. As in the last year, the strongest performance was confirmed in achieving SDG-2 "Zero Hunger". There, Omsk SAU was ranked in 201-300 category among over 400 participants. Judging by the global ranking, performance in other SDGs is decent as well: SDG-1 - 401-600, SDG-3 - 601-800, SDG-17 - 601-800.

To ensure unbiased evaluation process and prevent data from being falsified, the majority of ranking criteria require additional evidence such as parts of official reports, photos, news in open sources, etc. We believe that Omsk State Agrarian University advantage is its transparency in information space. Thanks to good coverage of research, education and social policy on our website, ranking analysts are given solid and convincing evidence base.

Promotion of the university in international rankings requires significant efforts and coordinated work on collection and processing of information. The International Relations Department thanks university staff who helped in providing data and evidence.
