In total, 1,233 institutions of higher education in Russia were evaluated (707 main universities and 526 branches). The universities were distributed across five leagues depending on the value of the J index, calculated on the basis of monitoring data of higher education institutions’ performance and derived from six key indicators:
• educational activity (average Unified State Exam score);
• research activity (R&D volume per faculty member);
• international activity / adjusted student body (share of international students);
• financial and economic performance (income per faculty member);
• faculty salaries;
• an additional indicator.
Based on its performance, Omsk State Agrarian University achieved a J index of 19 and was ranked in the First League. The university’s Tara Branch also entered the First League, with a J index of 20.
Among 48 agrarian educational institutions (36 main universities and 12 branches) evaluated, the Tara Branch ranked 5th, while the main university ranked 6th.
Within the 19 universities of Omsk Region included in the ranking (12 main universities and 7 branches), the Tara Branch placed 2nd, and Omsk State Agrarian University placed 3rd.
