Regional Olympiad in the Discipline of "Statistics"

The results of the regional Olympiad in the discipline of "Statistics," which took place at the University College of Agribusiness on February 6th in accordance with the work plan of the Association "Council of Directors of Professional Educational Organizations of the Omsk Region," have been summarized.

The Olympiad was organized and conducted by Evgenia Mikhailovna Kaznacheeva, a teacher at the Department of Biotechnology and Law, who is also the head of the methodological association for teachers of economic and accounting disciplines within the Association "Council of Directors of Professional Educational Organizations of the Omsk Region."

The tasks for the Olympiad were developed by LLC "Center for Consulting, Outsourcing, and Law," represented by Director Evgenia Valeryevna Maksimova and Accountant Elmira Maratovna Gabdullina.

The Olympiad aims to improve the competencies of students from educational institutions, reinforce and deepen professional knowledge, stimulate creative growth, identify the most talented students, and foster a healthy spirit of competition and a desire to win.

The Olympiad featured participation from 11 teams from various colleges in Omsk and the Omsk Region:

- College of Innovative Technologies, Economics and Commerce".

- Omsk Academy of Economics and Entrepreneurship

- Omsk Industrial and Economic College

- Omsk Technical School of Meat and Dairy Industry

- University College of Agribusiness of Omsk SAU 

- Omsk Automobile and Transport College

- Siberian Professional College

- Omsk Agrarian and Technological College

- Moskalensky Professional College

- College of Omsk State Technical University

- Siberian Regional School of Business (College)

The Olympiad consisted of 5 stages:

Stage 1 – "Office Romance": A homework assignment based on Eldar Ryazanov's film "Office Romance."

Stage 2 – "Tricky Questions": Assessment of theoretical knowledge acquisition in the academic discipline "Statistics."

Stage 3 – "Statistics can prove anything, even the truth": Solving a professional task on the topic "Absolute and Relative Values in Statistics."

Stage 4 – "Interpretation on the Topic": Improving skills in searching for and interpreting obtained information.

Stage 5 – "Statistical Reflection: The Path to Understanding": Analysis of the experience gained during the stages of the statistics Olympiad.

The evaluation and grading of the works were carried out by an independent commission consisting of:

- Evgenia Valeryevna Maksimova - Director of LLC "Center CAP";

- Elmira Maratovna Gabdullina - Accountant of LLC "Center CAP";

- Daria Viktorovna Maxyuta - Manager for work with educational institutions at "1C" Firm, OP;

- Olga Vladimirovna Bulavko - Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Law at the University College of Agribusiness;

- Anna Brovko - a 3rd-year student at Omsk State Pedagogical University, specializing in "Vocational Training," with a focus on "Economics and Management."

The progress of the Olympiad was monitored, and independent observers assisted in its organization: students from group 31 EB - A. Grintsova, R. Zerskikh, V. Ivashchenko, K. Kurtz, K. Kimalova, L. Usichenko, K. Kapanina, S. Kulakovskaya, A. Snyatkivska.

The winners of the Olympiad were the team from "Siberian Professional College"; second place was taken by the team from "Omsk Automobile and Transport College," and third place went to "Omsk Agrarian and Technological College."

The winners received diplomas, all other participants were awarded certificates, team leaders received letters of commendation, and the expert group was presented with letters of appreciation.
