Representatives of educational and sports organizations took part in it: OmSTU, OmSU, Omsk SAU, Kuzbass SAU (remote connection), OmSMU, OmSPU, SibADI, SibGUFK, the Olympic Reserve Sports School “Center of Ski Sports,” and the Russian Student Sports Union “RSSU of the Omsk Region.”
The moderator of the round table, Elena Vladimirovna Mudrievskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, introduced the program and regulations of the round table. Then, with a welcoming speech, spoke Viktoria Vladimirovna Sumina, Acting Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports. The speakers were: Elena Anatolyevna Shagarova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Deputy Director, Head of the Department of Methodological Support of the Municipal Budgetary Institution of Additional Education of Omsk “Sports School of the Olympic Reserve “Center of Ski Sports”, with the topic “Development of Cross-Country Skiing in the Omsk Region”; Irina Vladimirovna Teryokhina, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Omsk SAU, with the topic “On the Importance of Mass Sports Events in Cross-Country Skiing in the Education of Student Youth”; Irina Vladimirovna Mayorkina, Lecturer at the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education and Pre-University Training of OmSU, with the topic “Regulations and Rules of Competitions in Orienteering in Universities”; Irina Anatolyevna Sukhorukova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Omsk SAU, with the topic “Analysis of the Content of Activities in Orienteering.”
Participants of the round table noted that winter sports, in particular cross-country skiing, winter orienteering, and Nordic walking, are very significant in the physical education of schoolchildren and students, since they contribute not only to the improvement of young people’s motor abilities but also to strengthening their bodies. The means and methods of the listed sports are advisable to be included in the educational process of physical education.
It is necessary to increase the number of mass sports and health-improving events based on the use of the mentioned sports, with the involvement of different age groups of the population.
The following issues were considered and discussed in the focus of the participants of the round table:
1. The current state and prospects for the development of winter sports in the Siberian region.
2. Current problems of physical education, professional-applied physical and sports training in the education system.
3. Educational and extracurricular activities in winter sports in educational organizations, ways and methods of their improvement.
The participants of the round table decided:
- To take into account the presented information.
- To organize training seminars for physical education teachers on the methodology of teaching and refereeing competitions in orienteering, cross-country skiing, and Nordic walking.
- To develop cooperation between universities with the involvement of student sports clubs through the organization and holding of mass sports and health-improving events in winter sports.
