Scientists of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Omsk State Agrarian University took part in an international conference in Minsk

On September 15-16, an international scientific and practical conference "Modern achievements in solving urgent problems of the agro-industrial complex" was held in Minsk.

The event had an international format and was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republican Research Subsidiary Unitary Enterprise "Institute of Experimental Veterinary Science named after S.N. Vyshelessky". The Institute welcomed the guests in a modernized building. At the same time, a monument to Vyshelessky Sergey Nikolaevich, an outstanding epizootologist, academician of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, professor was unveiled on the territory of the Institute at the main entrance.

The conference "Modern achievements in solving urgent problems of the agro-industrial complex" brought together like-minded people from different countries (Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan) who came to present their scientific achievements and take part in scientific discussions of the most pressing issues. Vladimir Viktorovich Zhaldybin, the director of the Institute addressed the participants of the conference with a welcoming speech. He spoke about the achievements and prospects for the development of the institute, presented the scientific areas currently being implemented at the institute. After that, representatives of various universities and research institutes discussed the problems of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious, parasitic and non-infectious diseases, as well as the state and prospects of veterinary education.

The conference was attended by the staff of our university, who presented their reports in the plenary part of the conference. Lyudmila Karpovna Gerunova, doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor of the Department of Diagnostics, Internal Non-Infectious Diseases, Pharmacology, Surgery and Obstetrics, made a presentation on "Clinical and pharmacological approaches to the selection and use of antibacterial drugs in animal husbandry". The second participant from the university was Taras Vladimirovich Gerunov, a Doctor of biological Sciences, associate professor. He presented the report "Mycotoxin-induced immunosuppression and its role in the development of opportunistic infections in animals". This research has been done within the framework of the grant of the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists (MD-2435.2022.5.).

Excursions were organized for all participants of the conference. A visit to the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, which belongs to the museums of an ethnographic complex profile of republican significance, made a special impression. The museum guides told the guests of the conference about the peculiarities of everyday life of people in the country in the 18th and 19th century.
