The IX Interdisciplinary Olympiad on Sustainable Forest Management has concluded

Our university had 65 students participating, including 35 undergraduates from all courses in the Forestry program (35.03.01) and master's students in Horticulture.

This year, we had a record number of participants—1496 individuals from 44 universities and colleges across Russia. The Olympiad traditionally takes place on the educational platform of Primorsky State Agricultural Technical University. This year, the co-organizers of the Olympiad included the Scientific Consortium "Russian Innovative Technologies for Carbon Monitoring" ("RITM Carbon") and the Institute of Geology and Natural Resources of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The main mission of our Olympiad is to enhance the prestige of professions related to forestry, develop professional thinking among future specialists, and broaden their knowledge in forestry science, silviculture, and forest management. Thanks to the organizers, we managed to attract over a thousand students from 44 universities. We aimed to create interesting and engaging questions to allow participants to showcase their knowledge, logical thinking, and calculation skills. The Olympiad always includes an element of competition; participants with the best results receive certificates and awards.

Additionally, 20 participants with the best results in the category "Carbon Cycle of Forest Ecosystems" will be identified and awarded separately. Forest ecosystems in every region of Russia require professional management based on a deep understanding of the nature of forests.
