The organizational part of the practice, including briefing, receiving and discussing assignments, and preparing reports and documentation, took place at the University College of Agribusiness. In the laboratories of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, students identify Trichinella using a trichinoscope, detect parasites in animal livers, apply surgical sutures, administer intravenous medications, collect blood samples, and perform many other procedures.
At the farm “Division No 1” in Konezavodsky settlement, Omsk Oblast, students conducted clinical examinations of animals using clinical examination instruments and completed diagnostic sheets.
The students’ own feedback speaks most eloquently about the results of the practice:
Alexandra Gorbunova:
Maria Kamitova:
“It was really cool. Time flew by. We have performed clinical examinations many times, but during this practice we examined a sick animal for the first time.”
Dmitry Portnyagin:
“We do many practical tasks during our studies, but when you are on a farm, everything is remembered better and faster. I liked it very much. While examining the calves, I was once again convinced I chose the right profession.”
Group 320 Vet now faces industrial (on-the-job) practice ahead, which means new tasks and professional experience.
