Instructions for authors

Articles acceptance procedure

1. Articles should contain the results of scientific research, theoretical, practical developments, ready for use and being relevant at the present stage of scientific development, or be of scientific and educational interest.

2. Articles are accepted for the following scientific areas, on which the journal is included in the HAC List:

  • 05.20.1 – Technologies and means of agricultural mechanization (Technical Sciences),
  • 05.20.3 – Technologies and means of technical maintenance in agriculture (Technical Sciences),
  • 06.01.1 – General agriculture, crop production (Agricultural Sciences),
  • 06.01.4 – Agrochemistry (Agricultural Sciences),
  • 06.01.5 – Breeding and seed production of agricultural crops (Agricultural Sciences),
  • 06.01.09 – Vegeculture (Agricultural Sciences),

3. The following documents should be submitted to the editors:

  • electronic version of the article. The file with the article should be called by the name of the first author;
  • a printed copy of the text of the article, strictly corresponding to the electronic version;
  • information about the authors, an electronic version and a printed copy with the signatures of the authors. An asterisk indicates the name of the author with whom correspondence is required to be carried out;
  • a cover letter addressed to the editor-in-chief of the journal on the letterhead of the sending organization with a conclusion on the relevance of the work and recommendations for publication, signed by the head of the organization.
  • a review of the article by an external reviewer (a specialist with a scientific degree of a Doctor or Candidate of Sciences, having the scientific specialization closest to the topic of the article), certified by a seal. The reviewer cannot be the author or co-author of the peer-reviewed work.

4. Articles received and accepted for publication are not returned.

5. The editors reserve the right not to register articles that do not meet these requirements, as well as the right to reproduce materials (publication, duplication) without limitation of editions.

6. Articles are edited. The editors reserve the right to make changes that are editorial in nature and do not affect the content of the article.

7. All articles are peer-reviewed, as a result of which the Editorial Board makes the final decision on the suitability of publication.

8. The authors bear legal and other responsibility for the content of the articles. Articles sent to the editor without fulfilling the basic requirements for published articles are not considered. In case of rejection of the article, the editorial office sends the author a motivated refusal.

9. The royalty for publishing articles in the Journal is not paid.

10. Verification of the material provided by the authors in the Anti-Plagiarism system is mandatory. The originality level of the text of the article should not be lower than 85% (Order No. 159/OД dated February 27, 2017).

11. External authors subscribe to the journal for the six-month period through the “Russian Post” electronic catalog. 

Articles formatting requirements

A volume of the article, including annexes, should be 7-15 pages. Files are submitted to the editors with the extension *.doc, *.docx or *.rtf.

Font – Times New Roman, size – 12 pt, intervals – 1.0, margins – left and right – 2.5 cm, top and bottom – 3.0 cm, indentation – 1 cm, text alignment – width, without hyphenation of words, pages are not numbered.

1. The first page contains:

  • UDC code – in the upper left corner, without indentation. One line is skipped.
  • surnames and initials of all authors in Russian - separated by commas in italics, left alignment, without indentation.
  • full name of the organization, city - from a new line, in italics, left alignment. One line is skipped.
  • the title of the article in Russian (in semi-bold capital letters), reflecting its content (not more than 10 words), in the center. It is not allowed to use abbreviations in the title other than those generally recognized. One line is skipped.
  • an abstract in Russian with a volume of 200–250 words, but not more than 2000 characters. The structure of the annotation briefly reflects the structure of the article. The introduction is minimal. It is necessary to present the purpose of the study, methods, results (with quantitative data, if any present in the article), clearly formulate conclusions. The place of research is specified to the region. It is forbidden to part the annotation into paragraphs, use introductory words and turnovers. No need to emphasize the personal contribution of the author. Numerals, if they are not the first words, are transmitted in numbers. You cannot use abbreviations (for example, names of institutions) without definition and complex formatting elements (for example, superscripts and subscripts).
  • The abstract can be published independently and, therefore, should be understandable without reference to the text of the article. The quality of the annotation and its translation determines the possibility of placing the corresponding article in the AGRIS database.

  • keywords in Russian (no more than 9 words or phrases). Keywords are printed in italics on the left: Keywords and phrases are given with a comma. One line is skipped.

2. The text of the article must be structured using the subheadings of the relevant sections:

  • introduction;
  • objects and methods;
  • experimental part;
  • research results or results and their discussion;
  • conclusion;
  • bibliography.

It is allowed to divide the article into 4 sections:

  • Introduction
  • Materials and methods
  • Research results (Results and their discussion)
  • Conclusion.

Subheadings and headings are capitalized in bold with center letter alignment, without indentation.

3. After the main text of the article, one line is skipped and the title References is printed in the center in italics.

A numbered list of sources is placed through one line in the order of references in the text.

References – at least ten sources, of which at least 50% are over the past five years, as well as at least one source in a foreign language.

It is formatted in accordance with GOST 7.1–2003 and the requirements of the journal, carefully verified by the authors and is given at the end of the article. The numbering of links in the list is given in accordance with the order of their mention in the text (not in alphabetical order). The first word of the source name or full name of the author is in italics.

References in the text are given in square brackets, for example, [1]. Only one source of information should be indicated in one list item.

Use of self-citation is not allowed. It is recommended to refer to no more than 2 publications of each of the authors.

4. Information about the authors is given in one line in the following form: last name, first name, patronymic, academic degree, academic title (in the absence of degree and title – position), abbreviated name of the organization, contact email of the author.

5. Information in English is given in one line: - surname and initials of the authors. Left alignment, italics. Name of organization, city - in a new line in italics, left alignment. One line is skipped. Title of the article in English (capital letter only the first). Center alignment, bold. One line retreats.

6. An abstract in English is provided. Authors are responsible for the quality of translation; word by word and machine translation are not allowed. The editors reserve the right to reject articles with poor translation.

7. Keywords are printed in italics on the left and keywords or phrases in English are listed with a comma. One line is skipped.

8. Transliterated list of references. The heading "References" is in italics. Transliteration is carried out in accordance with GOST R 7.0.34-2014 and GOST 7.79-2000. On the website http: //translit.ru/ you can use the program for transliterating Russian text into Latin script for free (GOST 7.79-2000 format) 

A line is skipped.

9. Information on the authors in English is given: full name, academic degree, academic title (in the absence of degree and title - position), abbreviated name of the organization, contact email of the author.      

10. Images for the article should be clearly executed, of good quality, clearly illustrating the text. All images are performed in black and white. The text of the article must contain links to the submitted images. Numbering of images is made in the order of links in the text. The numbering heading is typed in italics with center alignment. The subject heading is on the same line, immediately after the numbering (for example: Img. 1. Dependence ...). The link to the image in the main text is made in brackets: (Img. 1). If the image has a large format, it should be placed on a separate page, in case of significant width - on a page with landscape orientation.

11. Tables are presented in the WORD editor. The numbering of the tables is carried out in the order of links in the text. The text of the article must contain links to all the tables presented. The numbering heading is typed in italics with right-justification (for example: Table 1). The thematic heading is capitalized in bold on the next line with center alignment (no dot is placed after the heading). The link to the table in the main text is made in brackets, for example: (table 1). If the table has a large format, it can be placed on a separate page, with a considerable width - on a page with landscape orientation.   

12. Simple formulas that do not contain special characters (absent on the keyboard) must be typed using keyboard characters without using special editors. Formulas containing special characters (not found on the keyboard), as well as complex and multi-line formulas, must be entirely typed in the Microsoft Equation 3.0 formula editor. It is not allowed to type a part of the formula with symbols, and parts in the formula editor. It is not recommended to insert formulas in the form of figures in the text. The reference to formulas in the main text is made in brackets, for example, (1). The text must contain references to all the formulas presented. If formulas are numbered in the text of an article, then this numbering should be performed by a set of numbers. Automatic numbering is not allowed.


Articles review procedure

1. An article is sent for review to members of the Editorial Board of the journal. The review preparation period is 2 weeks from the moment of the receipt of the article by the reviewer.

2. Reviewing is strictly confidential, double blind reviewing is accepted (the reviewer does not know the authors of the article, the authors of the article do not know the reviewers). The content of articles is not subject to disclosure.

3. A review is provided to the author upon his written request.

4. If the review indicates that the article should be corrected, the article is returned to the author for revision (no more than 1 time). All necessary changes should be made to the final version of the article.

The following should be sent to the editors:

  • the text corrected in accordance with the remarks;
  • the corrected text of the article in electronic form;
  • the letter of response to the reviewer.

5. The date of receipt of the article is the date the author returns the revised article.

6. If the article is not returned by the author from the revision for more than 3 months, it is withdrawn from consideration. The corresponding notification is sent to the authors about the removal of the article from registration due to the expiration of the time allotted for revision.

7. In case of disagreement with the opinion of the reviewer, a reasoned response is provided to the editorial office of the journal, the article is sent for re-review to another expert or for approval by the Editorial Board.

8. If the article is rejected, the Editorial Board informs the author on the refusal and sends a copy of the reasoned opinion to him.

9. The following aren’t reviewed:

  • articles of full members and corresponding members of  Russian academies, if the academician or corresponding member is either the only author or the first of coauthors;
  • articles submitted to scientific, scientific and technical, methodical councils of scientific organizations or higher education institutions on the basis of which the work has been performed.

10. The Editorial Board decides on the suitability of publication after reviewing.

11. The editors should send copies of reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon receipt of the corresponding request.

12. Reviews are stored in the editorial office for 5 years.
