Omsk SAU rector participated in the opening of a youth forum in China

As part of an initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in 2021, the Chinese SCO Committee for Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, the All-China Youth Federation and the People's Government of Guangdong Province decided to organize the "SCO Youth Scientific, Technical and Innovation Forum".

The Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Industries Demonstration Zone Management Committee and the Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry were responsible for the platform "Innovations of the Young - Technologies of the Future", and they invited Rector of Omsk State Agrarian University, Professor Oksana Shumakova to the opening ceremony.

Such sharp topics as youth innovation cooperation, public health, digital economy, artificial intelligence, green development, cooperation in the field of reducing poverty and rural development were touched at the forum. They forum was aimed at creating a platform for full-fledged communication of participants and the implementation of a number of joint projects.

Rector of Omsk State Agrarian University Oksana Shumakova noted in her speech:

"... Today, the global agenda in the field of solving food problems, and hence ensuring the development of rural areas, is the same for everyone. It requires serious consolidation of the efforts of specialists from interdisciplinary fields and different countries. What is especially important is that young people are involved in solving these issues. Omsk SAU is also actively working in these areas, making a serious contribution through scientific research and various social and educational projects. Students of our university also actively participate in federal innovation programs, annually receiving scientific grants to implement their ideas. In general, each such event opens up new horizons for cooperation and expands the scope of internationalization in education and science!"

Research presented by young scientists makes a significant contribution to poverty reduction and rural development. It also allows developing international collaborations involving young scientists of our university.
