The second scholarship to study at the North-West University of Agriculture and Forestry (NWAFU) has been won

For the second year, students of Omsk State Agrarian University have the opportunity to study at the North-West University of Agriculture and Forestry (Yangling, China), a long-time partner of the Omsk SAU which provides quotas for receiving a Chinese Government Scholarship.

This year the scholarship was won by Anastasia Stepanova, a graduate student of the Faculty of Economics.

The scholarship of the Chinese Government implies studying at NWAFU under the 1+3 program, i.e. Anastasia will study Chinese for one year, and from the second year she will start studying under the main program. Upon successful completion of her studies, she will receive a PhD from the North-West University of Agriculture and Forestry in her chosen specialty.

Before enrolling, Anastasia had to pass an interview with Professor Zhu Yuchun. We asked her to tell us a little about this interview, what questions were asked, and about her impression as well.

"During the interview, they told me about the university and the peculiarities of studying. I was asked about my achievements, about the area of my scientific interest, and also what I know about China. In general, the interview was easy. At the end of the interview, I remember the phrase: "Anastasia, I hope to see you soon at our university". This was a very motivating conclusion of the conversation and it worked: I submitted the missing documents in a couple of days and sent an application."

Since China remains a closed country, Anastasia will start learning Chinese online.

The International Relations Department sincerely wishes Anastasia successful studies, and an early opportunity to study at the university itself!
