Moving around

When you are moving around the city and the University campus, please make sure that you have your passport, student card and this memorandum with you, so that people around you can help you in case you need to get to Omsk SAU or identify you. We suggest you turn for help to law enforcement officers – policemen – or call the International relations office. Omsk is a big city and you can easily get lost, especially in the beginning.

Public Transport

Omsk SAU is located in the most beautiful and picturesque area of Omsk. The closest bus stop is called “Teletsentr”. Bus or trolley-bus fare amounts to 45 rubles. Collective taxi fare amounts to 45 rubles, while the cost of a regular taxi is negotiable and depends on the distance you have to cover.

Shopping

The nearest food stores are located on the Omsk SAU campus. There you can buy manufactured goods too. You can find many shops and department stores in Omsk city centre.

Banks

You can turn to any bank branch to exchange your currency into rubles or to open a bank account to secure your cash resources. You can choose a bank by comparing offered exchange rates or bank account conditions. We suggest that you do not keep big amounts of money in your dormitory.

Medical Service

Medical service for foreign students is offered on the basis of a voluntary medical insurance and therefore requires payment. The nearest polyclinic centre is located on the Omsk SAU campus, at 7a Sibakovskaya street. Dental services are rendered in specialized clinics and offices, which can be found in several parts of the city.

In case of an emergency you can make a free call for an ambulance by dialing “03” on your phone. However, you will have to pay for the offered medical services according to the above-mentioned conditions.
